Located directly behind the bridge, this lounge was a social gathering place for the bridge crew to relax while off-duty. A relic of the time when Potemkin was originally commissioned, these sort of officer's lounges were common in the late 23rd and early 24th centuries. Newer starship designs more often use this space as a large conference lounge instead, with the bridge crew encouraged to socialize in common areas alongside the rest of the crew. Potemkin maintained the older arrangement, with a dedicated briefing room on deck 2 instead. As Captain Bertrand put it, "a quiet lounge to relax in makes better use of the view".
