The main control room for the ship's power systems, Potemkin's engineering was of similar size to the ship's bridge and required almost as many crewmembers during normal operations.
The center of the room contained a lowered pit with a master systems display table providing large quantities of information about the ship's status at a glance. Directly behind the pit was the warp core, with its two lateral power transfer conduits taking warp plasma to the nacelles, and two vertical deuterium control conduits at the back, which helped keep the M/AM reaction stable. The sides of the room contained work stations surrounding the warp core, and Jefferies tube access hatches.
